About the blog

I am a graduate in History, currently studying for a postgraduate degree in Scottish history. Due to my range of experience, from assisting with private family history research to volunteering in local archives, I wanted to combine my interest in history with content that would help the public understand their own ancestry much better.

My aim is to summarise the key information from each article I read, and to provide a conclusion at the end for how you can use the information wisely to research your genealogy. For example,

I use academic articles primarily due to my ability to access the information and to read through the information quickly enough to produce regular posts. In time however, I will branch out into different source material.

I will be submitting a new post every one to two weeks.
